04: Local Heritage & community

Our waterways are not just places to enjoy — they are part of the history, identity and future of our communities. We organise visits and activities around local heritage sites, waterways and community spaces, working with local organisations and groups to help participants discover more about the places on their doorstep.

We believe that the more connected people feel to their local environment, the more they care about protecting and improving it.

That connection is already inspiring action. Our choir has been invited to help celebrate the opening of a new pedestrian footbridge, while participants have also taken part in local litter-picking activities. Under the Bridge is about connecting people not just to each other, but to the places and communities they are part of.
